About FUE Hair Transplant

In FUE, each follicular unit (a natural group of one to four hairs) is extracted individually with a fine micro-punch, usually under 1 mm wide. The tiny openings in the donor area close within days and leave only small dots that are hidden by surrounding hair.

The follicles are then placed into small channels in the recipient area at the angle, direction and density of your natural hair. Because the hairs come from the permanent donor zone, they keep growing for life.

FAQ

FUE Hair Transplant: common questions

Does FUE leave a scar?

FUE does not leave a linear scar. It leaves very small dot-like marks in the donor area that are usually invisible with short to normal hair lengths.

How many grafts will I need?

It depends on your hair loss pattern and donor capacity. Early recession can need 1,000–2,000 grafts, while advanced loss can need 3,500 or more. Your doctor gives a personal estimate at the consultation.

Is FUE painful?

The procedure is done under local anaesthesia, so you mainly feel the first injections. Mild tightness in the first days is managed with the medication you receive.

When can I go back to work?

Most people return to desk work within 3 to 7 days. Visible redness usually settles within 7 to 10 days.
